“A job that gives back”

What makes a hero? A hero protects, rescues and helps people, which is exactly what the cooperation between Hansaplast and the German Red Cross was founded on. But who works behind the scenes? Our very own heroine Anina Shirin Lippmann, Hansaplast Brand Manager and project manager for the cooperation.

Anina has been with Beiersdorf for over ten years and works as the Hansaplast Brand Manager for Germany since September 2015. The cooperation with the German Red Cross started in 2014, before she took over the job. However, the campaign which now aims to train 50,000 children as junior first aiders had not yet been developed. Anina launched the new campaign entitled ‘No one is too small to help’ in collaboration with the German Red Cross.

The partnership went smoothly from the start. ‘Both organizations have an incredibly long tradition, deep roots and lots of experience. And both are extremely well known in the German market’, explains Anina. ‘The German Red Cross is a leading provider of first aid courses and Hansaplast is a market leader in plasters in Germany. That is why our approach is the perfect match: we help people because that is what we do best.’

Anina handles the project management within the partnership in addition to her regular duties as a Brand Manager: ‘It is certainly a challenge to find the time for all of the projects, especially as I work part time. Fortunately, at Beiersdorf I can be highly flexible and even work from my home office.’ Now she wouldn’t want to miss the cooperation at any cost: ‘The great bonus of this job is that you go home really happy and satisfied. I can create many things myself, implement my own ideas and I have freedom to act and decide. That is really motivating and fun. Naturally, working closely with another organization is also an exciting source of knowledge and inspiration. You meet really interesting people with totally different backgrounds.’

Anina got to know Beiersdorf as a marketing intern for the 8x4 brand. She liked it so much that she did a second internship in Madrid, where she also wrote her thesis. Right upon her return, she started her career in Trade Marketing for the NIVEA brand. Later she was a brand manager for various Eucerin products, she switched to ABC Heat Plasters and ultimately Hansaplast. ‘Beiersdorf provides me with great development opportunities and I have gotten to know lots of different brands, competitors and markets so far. This has allowed me to get to know myself better too and find out what I can do best and where I want to go.’ Anina is a real everyday hero to her two sons as well. Their favourite play is to treat their mum with their first aid kit and Hansaplast children’s plasters – obviously the topic of first aid is taught at home as well.
